>>2346639No that's just the cheapest amazon interior bug net for sleeping. As I said you can get full size bugnets. 1.5 is a person and a half person. Meaning he size is comperable to a 3 person space. As for why? Because even a full pyramid is cheaper than the most budget freindly ribbed tent. Take some Big Agnes coppper spur and compare it to say, a DD tarp tent with the skeeter inside. You can get a set for 160.00 GBP = 208.30 USD as of today.
The weight of both is 565g + 460g for a 1225 gram setup. Use a trekking pole for the interior or a tie off to a fly. Easy.
keep in mind this IS a tent, but I'm saying you can skip 95 GPB tent and use the much cheaper tarp and cut the cost right down.
Also lighter even more so. A 3x3 is 39.00 GBP = 50.77 USD. So 39 + 65 GPB = 104.00 GBP = 135.40 USD For a large mesh, with a large tarp that you can prop up with a trekking pole.
It's lighter. more modular and almost a 3rd of the cost of commercial 'decent' comperable ultralight tents. The mesh + a larger 4x4 brings the total up to 117.00 GBP = 152.32 USD. So if you want bigger or smaller based on that then you can. It's a massive saving different for a little bit of planning. All compatable and solid.
I drew up a quick comparison of stats and relevent numbers for you in case you need a vision on this.
So that's why not a tent.
- Cheaper
- Lighter
- Stronger
- Can use alternative poles.
- Can still use the tarp versions for hammocking which saves your extra gear for if you want to change things up later on.
