I've fished this pond for 3 years and as far as I know it's only bullhead in here, but this is some other kind of beast. Gave me the fight of my life because I wasn't expecting it - I was tossing out another line and heard my other pole jump. When I looked at it It was bent in half. I dropped my other pole mid cast and as soon as I set the hook it started ripping my drag (which was set tight - I caught a big bass earlier and didn't even get one click - this motherfucker had it going like it was nothing).
I thought I snagged a beaver for a while, because it just wasn't coming in. Once i realized this was the real deal I let him tire out, and 5 minutes later I got him in.
Just under 30 inches. Heavy as fuck.
Caught on a bottom rig live crawfish, on a tiny panfish hook and 10lb line (was trying for an eel)...
Please tell me this is a step up from a bullhead.
