Your dog will outlast you every time. Bring plenty of water and bowl for it, and watch out for venomous snakes (Im not familiar with your area but it seems everyone has at least one species). Bring a long leash, or a remote with an e-collar if you want to let your dog roam.
Most of all, enjoy it.
