i think a small drone could actually be useful while of course being fun. whats one of the first suggestions you are to do when lost in the wilderness? gain altitude to survey the land for landmarks. easy done with a quick drone popup without having to climb a tree (dangerous) or trekking to higher ground (get more off course).
as this is an imageboard, it seems taking pictures in nature is a favorite thing to do while out. frankly itd be nice to see a few more aerial shots here. i agree that if you're gonna bring a drone, be conscientious of your surroundings and others by not being a dick. use it, get your shot and pack it up. don't just be up there buzzing around the length of the battery.
