>>1524047Put a dry fly on and go to your local bluegill haunt in the evening. Buy a 5wt. The cabellas/BPS combos are good enough. The biggest thing is to make sure you go the same speed forward and back. Spin fisherman will always take it slow back and fast forward. Keep it relatively slow and consistent, and the rod tip high. Unless you're going after wild trout, everything from bluegill, bass, stocked trout, and steelhead will hit a woolly bugger in white or olive/black, also a hares ear nymph, an Adam's dry, and a San Juan worm are really the only flies you need to start off with primarily the whooly bugger size 10.
