If you went back and offered a Viking your life as it stands today, they would not hesitate to trade places. They didn't plunder and steal for the "embrace of nature" or anything like that. They did it so they wouldn't starve to death surrounded by vultures.
Maybe if you go die alone in a mudhole somewhere, hopefully it'll stop you from infecting the gene pool with whatever degenerative brain disease you have.
