I paddle a few times a week, feels good. not a huge fan of inflatables, i just wouldnt feel safe in anything other than a calm lake but then again a couple guys paddled the whole Mississippi with em so theres that i guess. I usually use mine to fish or do small multiday trips, this year im trying to get into more whitewater; havent done anything over class 3 but that shit is a blast.

Id say just go with a sit in, recreational type. Theyre versitile, stable and good on most types of water other than whitewater and open ocean. Sit on tops are nice too, theyre a bit easier to get in/out of and you cant swamp em (fill full of water and sink) . Theres a couple sit on tops ive been looking at buying to fully rig into a fishing boat since they have more room to move and you can stand in most of em; so it makes fishing a bit easier but by no means necessary, i fish in my sit ins all the time.
