I walked back past the snek and he wiggled out of the bushes back towards the fence. I didn't want to see him get back to the lake (especially since they can last awhile outside of water) so I overcame my fear. Bar-fight style, I smashed a beer bottle on his thick skull a couple times and then put the bigger knife thru his brain.
