I should get back into fly fishing. I did it for a whole year with good success but got discouraged because I kept fouling up while casting. I still have a 4wt Orvis rod and reel. If I start again, should I get new backing/line/tippets? The last time I did it was in 2006.

I do surf fishing in North Jersey; you do need some length to get the stuff out there and due to the surf you need like 3-4oz of weights for sure. I'm tired of my cheaper combo. I think I'd pair it with a Daiwa BG 5000, or should I get a bigger reel?
