Memes aside, if you plan on carrying some weight on it, get one with detachable straps.
But fanny packs/lumbar packs are NOT backpacks, they weren't made for relatively heavy loads.
But it's very relative, I have a couple cheap lumbar packs, the very cheapest one works great up to ~2 kg (2x 800ml water bottles + knife, binos and some snacks)
The other one starts sagging like there's no tomorrow as soon as I put ~1 kg in it.
