>>2154914>but I never run across you guys in the woods?my set up is
>120 dollar tent from bass pro shop>30 dollar sleeping bag from target>10 dollar pillow from target>hatchet for larping purposes>15 dollar ozark trail minibag from target>tarp, or courseI'm always near people, and my car is nearby. There are so many gear threads but all my stuff is cheap as fuck because i don't like to worry too much about it. Maybe they aren't "hardcore" /out/ people and they just realize most people aren't doing things crazy enough to warrant spending 400 dollars on a backpack. I see people with that expensive shit drop in all the time and that's cool, but the people that seem to really camp for weeks at a time are just pragmatic about it and realize they will probably do a grocery store run a few times. This might be the more simple answer you are looking for that explains the attitude of most people on the board. They just don't really get into the gear stuff so they like to have fun with it. Then there are the hardcore /out/ people, and I have done some of that stuff too myself with the same equipment plus gps or actual compass. I rarely do that these days though because I've had the experience, now I just want to relax and be outside.
I have some friends that do crazy outdoors stuff for weeks at a time. I imagine fi they post here they just have an attitude where the noise wouldn't bother them and they would reply in one or two sentences. It's just their way. At the same time they wouldn't care about the larp threads either. You probably do see them but it's not like they carry a sign that says "i plan on camping for a few weeks without seeing another human being" on them.
I also love milsurp and I have a lot of it but I never take it with me because I hate having conversations about it.
