I rent a condo in LA, and the only space I have to garden is a 10x15 patch of astroturf. I made 2 3x6x1.5 beds, filled them with 50/50 compost topsoil and planted carrrots, beets, peas and broccoli. Anyway I had 2 questions for garden anons here
1. I used landscape cloth on the bottom of the beds to retain soil. Is the soil gonna fuck up the astroturf? Logically it seems like any staining could be scrubbed off with mild soap and water.
2. How deep do my beds really need to be? Wood and soil are expensive. My current soil depth is like 11 inches, but could I make my beds shorter and grow in like 8 inches of soil?
