>>1697821Got out to the Gunks today for a little bit. Even though it was 34F outside the cliff seems to act as a big heat reflector and it was pretty nice up there. We started with an easy classic called Three Pines, it's nuts how steep a Gunks 5.3 can be.
After that I ran up Birdie Party 5.8+ (pic related) and set up a top rope for my partner to have a bash. Then I had a shot at Higher Stannard 5.9-, I had a little trouble route finding and even though it turned out I we as in the right place I psyched myself out and made a retreat to the anchors of an adjacent climb. Gotta work on my head game.
Hopefully there's a few more oddball weekends of decent weather before the season really ramps up. We had our pick of any climb and it was fucking glorious.
Beers and waffle fry nachos to round off the day before driving back to the city.
