But you wear a seat belt every time you get in the car, right? Your car still comes equipped with airbags, right? You still wear a helmet when you ride your bike, don't you?
I can count on one hand the number of people I personally know who've ever been in a car crash and needed a seatbelt. I can count on one finger the number of people who needed an airbag. I don't know anyone who's ever crashed on a bike and got saved by a helmet.
But we still use them. Because having one when you don't need it won't hurt you, but not having one when you do need it, will get you killed.
