One time I was quail hunting with a friend not too far from zion np , actually in and around a ghost town. In an area that is popular with equestrians.
As we were about to strike out again after an early lunch, to ladies road up to us to tell us we couldn't hunt there. We informed them that this was BLM land and that we could indeed hunt here. One chuffed and said
>well don't shoot our horses.
This was such an absurd thing to say that we just looked at them in polite confusion.
The other one then said something to the effect of
>We're not going to be intimidated by you
I precived at this point that these ladies must have been in league with the quail and were trying to distract us. So I told my buddy we needed to get away.
We had a successful hunt and achieved our bag limits.
As we drove out to the freeway we saw a sherriff deputy bumping down the road to the ghost town. In all my years I've never seen any law enforcement that way, so I think they called dispatch to say we were behaving aggressively towards them.
Come to think of it. Although I actually really enjoy the company of women in civilization; I've never had a positive experience with a woman whom I did not already know while /out/. It's always been trouble and contention.
I'd pick a bear providing I'm armed. Which I always am.
