They definitely aren't a summer lure, but I guess umbrella rigs were actually banned from tournanents. They look like they would be better to troll than fish from shore. I guss the average bass one is 3oz+ and they reccommend 65lb braid.
Anybody ever use one? That would be a sweet saltwater lure but this email was about bass. I think I would rather just use a spinnerbait but I could see rigging an umbrella up with a bunch of jigheads and Gulp curly tail minnows and get tons of bites.
