On a compound bow you can configure where the string stops. An anchor point is where you hold the string so you can aim and fire. With recurve the anchor point is straight up preference that also depends on how you and i dont mean you as in people in general i mean you as in literally you shoot
some people have their recurve anchor jn the top of their cheek, on their cheek or on their jawline, on the front of their jawline or even on the very back of their jawline.
on a compound you have to set this up you dont just pull to it.
It has to be set up so that way the string and put the weight on the moving parts so you arent constantly holding all that tension
like i said
on recurve you're cinstantly holding that tension
