>>2103748I did the AT in a hammock and it worked great for it all considered. They can be hard to sleep in at first. I didn't sleep a wink my first two nights in mine, but eventually sleep exhaustion took over and after that I was used to it. Finding trees has only been a problem for me at high elevations with it, what's probably the issue is you're too worried about the tree bending, when they're small i just set the hammock up ridiculously high so that even when it bends I'm off the ground, never had a tree snap on me yet @210lbs. In know the light enos without a net are good, I assume the others are fine too. Hammocks are definitely the way to go if you want to quickly set camp just about anywhere. I wouldn't do the FT without one.
