>>909597Yes, the blades are very important. French blades are best for inline spinners. Each blade type is best with certain lures. Like willow blades for spinner lures but not inline spinners. I've been using spring tempered wire bought in bulk and having the right tools to work it is essential. Mine use wires thicker than most (0.045"), the max the parts will allow through them. Don't use anything plated. Get solid metals like brass and stainless steel.
I'm making mine with a split ring so I can change the hook to whatever I want; including single hook + plastic grub. That alone help a great deal with finicky fish.
