I've tried my hand at it over the past two months in Mariposa county by Merced River in California, it's kinda fun in some ways but it's also miserably cold, wet and tiring. And after around 8 days of lots of digging and panning for 6 hours a day I've only gotten this much gold, not even more than $5 worth when I spent $60 in gasoline. Kinda discouraging because I expected way more gold for the amount of work I put into it, guess I need to find a better place.
