What is the purpose of them, besides making it more cumbersome to cinch it tight and adding a bit of weight? I find it harder to pull away from me instead of towards me and I now have four plastic pieces on my hipbelt that can break, instead of two.
What is the secret benefit I'm missing? I can't be the obvious option that it's cheaper (it isn't, two seams and two buckles more) or better looking (though I'm not sure on that. Maybe Beer Grills had a pack like that once, and now the normies love it?), so what the fuck is it supposed to do?
