I live in Southern Europe. This was my first season looking for mushrooms and initially I was only interested in looking for A. Muscaria because reasons, but as time went by I began learning more and more and ended up looking for and cooking truckloads of edible mushrooms at the end of the season which is at about October-November.
There's still good edible mushrooms out there even though it's almost the end of November but there's also a scary amount of A. Phalloides in perfect state for the time of the year we are in. I don't know if it's because I've been looking in new places but finding like twenty of them in a couple days gets to me.
How's your mushroom season in general been for you guys?
