>>1238524Personally I have had amazing results using 4lb fluroclear Pline.
I basically double uni 4 yards of pline to my 10 Lb braid.
From there I Carolina rig it to a swivel using a 1/4 oz sliding egg sinker.
I then attach 1 to 3 feet of leader to the swivel using the same 4lb pline depending on the conditions.
I attach a size 16 golden eagle claw treble hook to my leader.
From there I basically use corn powerbait. I like to make my bait look like a corn kernel.
Make sure you have a reel with good drag. I like to set my drag super loose so when I bait and wait, the fish takes my bait it runs with it and It lowers the chances it will feel a pull which means it won't try to spit the hook out.
Just don't try to wench in the trout. I actually caught my pb rainbow trout using this set up. It weighed 5 1/2 pounds and was 23 inches.
my 4lb pline held up just fine.
