>>1377804>miserableWould probably be fairly uncomfy if you're used to thick inflating mats etc, but I'm so used to this set up that I find it super comfy.
>gear/price rundown>packMLD Burn, small pack, the main body is 25L, with the side pockets it's ~38L. It's as simple as a backpack can get desu
>ShelterI have various sizes of DCF tarp. From a small 9'x5' to a four season pyramid. Here I was carrying an 8.5'x8.5'. It was overkill for this trip as I never needed that much protection. I just use window insulation film as a ground sheet.
>sleep setupPermethrin treated sleeping bag liner. Synthetic quilt, the quilt is cool because the bottom half is rated at 38F and the top half is rated at 48F (iirc the temps). The idea is you'll probably be carrying a puffy so you can wear that at night if it's cold. The mat is just a piece of CCF foam. It's 1/8" thick.
It's light, I think this was <7lb, which is my usual 3 season weight. I'm heading to the middle east this winter and will have some big water carries so I'm happy my gear is nice and light.
