You also need to protect your skin from wind and dehydration. Drink lots of liquids and eat well. Oils and beeswax salves are used to protect skin, as well as coverings obviously. In places where there's lots of snow, "snow blindness" is a thing, so snow goggles are needed to prevent that. Which are made from bone like in this image.
