I finally got all the pieces of my backpack solar kit put together. I can now recharge AA and AAA. I can do low current USB charging from AA or AAA or direct from panel. High current USB possible from Li-Ion battery pack. 12v direct power from panel also possible.
Nomad 7.5 Panel
Guide 10 Charger
Mophie 6000mAh LiOn pack
The only thing I need to add is about 4 sets of Sanyo Enerloop rechargeable and I'm all set. All said and done, I'll be able to power my headlamp, GPS, phone, and ipod. There are only two devices I ever have with me that I won't be able to power. One is my handheld HAM radio, which I might be able to remedy with a AA / AAA battery case if I can track down a decent one. The other is the laser-light on my handgun, which unfortunately not much can be done about. For some reason tactical light manufacturers are stuck on CR123 cells and I can't get a decent light for my handgun or rifle that uses AA / AAA
