I started composting three weeks ago, in a rubbermaid trashcan because I don't have too much space in the yard. I thought moving the compost with a stick would be fine but it turns out that in the narrow bin, I can barely rotate the pile, especially from bottom to top. If the majority of my compost is fine or small items (leaves, coffee grounds, veggie bits) would the best tool to move it around be a shovel, or a pitch fork?
