>>2617597>>2617633Unironocally get the medium 6'6" medium ugly stik travel rod. Throw the best reel you can afford on there, spool it with 20 pound braid, and supplement that with leaders of either 8 or 14 pound test and that will cover a lot of bases for fresh water. Basically any fish under about 15 pounds will be a reasonable target with that setup. Granted it'd be most comfortable I the 1-8 pound range but with some skill you can definitely land 15 pound fish on a medium spinning rod with a 2500 size reel.
Also paddle tail swimbaits, split tail flukes, and curly tail grubs are the goat everywhere. If it eats minnows in the 1-6 imch range it can be caught on paddle tail swimbaits and you can run them on anything from a 1/8 Oz jighead to a 2oz jighead so they really can be fished just about anywhere whether you're jigging to suspended fish over 60 feet deep to flipping and pitching in a few feet of water.

>>2617686>4x tippet>bass and sunfishNo reason to run less than 2x neither of those fish is line shy. I literally fish #14 wet flies on 12 pound test for sunfish and dink bass on my 4 weight. if I don't get a clean cut on the line I literally can't thread it through the eye of the hook.
