Hopefully this isn't too stupid of a question but why can I never get any "big" fish to bite? I've been casually fishing for about a month now and have caught a good bit of fish but nothing that's really like "holy shit, this is a fucking fight".
For example, I went pier fishing a few nights ago and was catching enough white trout to feed an entire African village but they were stupidly small. It was fun but there wasn't even a fight. Would feel a nibble, set the hook, and that's all she wrote. Do I have to be using livebait or bigger bait/hooks in order to catch the big ones?
