>>1031059Unless you have a boat and the proper equipment to get lures down deep enough your chances of catching a nice pike are pretty slim. You should be able to still pull out some snakes (small pike) any time of the year if you are fishing the right areas. Try and find an area where there is good vegitation line where on one side it's weedy and then on the other it's open and usually deeper. Like I said it's not going to be easy without a boat but you might get lucky.
It's kinda hard to tell but pic related was when I was fishing a little bay off of the main lake that beavers had damned up to make their own sucluded pond. Pike came up and smaked my lure as I was lifting it up to cast it again.
