Yes, and I'm autistic as fuck about it. I'm one hundred percent convinced that there are watchers who live in the forest and attempt to drive people out. It's pretty rare that they kill people, mostly they just fuck with them by making noises close by and shit. If needed, they communicate through omens like leaving carcasses or disturbing trails. Whenever I'm innawoods I make sure to stay on their good side by cleaning up after myself and only taking what really need. At campsites I'll typically build a little shrine or something then take it down when I leave and making sure I don't leave a trace. When I take small game I always try to leave the head untouched and bury it close to where I found it, use as much of it as I can, and scatter the remains so I'm not defiling any one place. It's autistic as hell and probably just some weird way of internalizing good habits, but I've just seen so much spooky shit over the years that I'm not taking any chances.
Pic is a cat shrine I made a few years back after I got stalked by a bobcat. Didn't catch anything the four days I was out and had to eat oats and mashed potatoes the whole time
