Pic related is a bird I took care of for a day back in high school. Was walking to school and this little guy was lying in the snow in the middle of the road with what seemed to be a broken leg and a small wound. Likely from a cat. Bird was happy to sit in my warm hands and sweater pocket and I spent the school day trying to call a vet who would rehabilitate the bird.
I've made friends with tons of them since. Lived in an apartment a few years ago with a small clan of 10 or so blue birds in the nearby trees. Once I began to feed them nuts and they realized I was a fren, they'd do all sorts of really unnecessary tricks that made me think they were showing off. I could also toss a peanut for them and they'd catch it in the air with a spectacular flip.
Never seen a bird do shit like that.
