>>862221Last post I think I have mostly covered (but definitely open to suggestions). Have the most questions about these aspects:
>complete waxing/waterproofingTo my understanding, has some parts water resistant (forearms, shoulders, hood), but I ain't about to fuck around in pools of stagnant industrial run-off with no scrap of untreated cotton, nuh-uh. That said, I don't really want to go out and buy some $30-per-4oz-can designer wax to use on an experimental project, much less one based around an $8 milsurp piece. So how should I go about treating it? Buy some plain paraffin and melt it into the fabric? Use some of that rattle-can shit I used to use on my boots but have almost certainly lost by now? Something else?
>quick-release for backpack (if it doesn't have one already)So if something catches it (or someone catches me) I can drop it with the quickness; that said, also don't want it coming undone every time I brush up against a wall, ladder, branch, errant leaf floating through the breeze, so no C-hooks or snaps or shit like that either, so it's got to be sturdy...? Have one or two ideas, but could DEFINITELY use some help here. I'll try to find a good pic of how it attaches
>internal crimping straps, maybe elasticI really, really hate getting caught on nails and screws and sheet metal edges, so I want this thing to be fairly form-fitting. Definitely not going to completely tailor it; the necessary investment of time (or money, if I want it professionally done) is just not worth it for me. I also need full range of movement and the ability to layer underneath, so I was thinking about sewing some crimped elastic to the insides of the sleeves, chest and waist. Maybe adjustable straps or drawstrings.
