I've used a few of those types of utensils before. They fuck up the corners of your mouth if you gingerly eat like you normally would with a normal spoon or fork.

Here's a stirring spoon I made for mixing stuff in pans, which needs to also keep the bottom from sticking. It uses sycamore. Sycamore is an awesome hardwood for carving, fyi.
