I've been here since 2006 which is vaguely depressing to think about but 4chan has always been a counter-culture website and that hasn't really changed, but with the way social media and politics are so divisive nowadays, the general vibe and M.O on 4chan is to be much more aggressive and in your face about it. Back in the day the shitposting was typically kept within the context of the thread and stayed there, but now you have people going around multiple boards and threads to reee about niggers and trannies without much regard for if it even really fits into the conversation at hand. It's all so tiresome.
