Hey guys, I've saved up some money and am keeping my eyes peeling to have a place to call my own. The truth is, even if only for a few years, I'd rather have a small homestead to call my own than a big place owned by the bank (I'm a general contractor, so I'm familiar with construction and whatnot). My only issue is the legality of this. I do not want to invest my money into an acre of land, build a small place over the spring and summer, and find myself encountering legal issues down the road. I've had a tough time using Google, and I'd just like some advice from people who might have done something similar or know laws from this area (New England).
