>>2388595>Majority of american beechThey are my favorite species of tree but holy fuck they have so many different diseases and environmental factors working against them. I also hear they are really challenging to plant as a landscape tree.
They respond very poorly to pruning cuts but they won't self prune right because they need an already established forest above them to grow straight and tall. The end result is more of a bush.
