>>1202604I normally have my old Stevens with me when I'm /out/. Not objectively a good gun, because it's break action and single barreled, but it was my great grandfather's when he was a farm kid. Makes me feel safe. I have a few other good luck charms I keep on my person- a ring I made from a horseshoe nail, my WWI field glasses, an old cigarette case. Every man needs his 'medicine', in the native american sense. No matter how light I pack, I take one of these things with me, because it makes me feel safe. Don't disregard superstition, but keep in kind that there's good things too, not just bad.
