If you mean that she took a nap with her nose oriented up the grade (as in, you were riding uphill), all you'd have to do would be to put her in first before lifting her up. If you mean that the top of the bike ended up facing down the grade, then yeah, that's a little trickier. In such a situation, I'd probably try to reorient the bike so that the nose faced downhill. A partial lift and some wrangling of the bars would likely do the trick.
The big GS kinda "cheats", though --because of the boxer engine layout, she's basically a third of the way up on level ground, especially when wearing hard panniers, as you can see in this image of the previous model.
