I ordered these online (or very similar Merrell waterproof hiking boots) and made the mistake of taking them on a 6 hour hike last Thursday. Absolutely terrible ergonomics, worse than if they were flat. Thick and sturdy heel and toe, but zero sole support, it feels like my right foot arch collapsed. Left feels okay however. Bottom line these suck shit, I don;t understand how they could overlook this, especially since they seem to be a popular brand, are they designed for flat-footed people or soemthing.
Anyways, I usually just hike in my lightweight super ergonomic asics, and I can walk forever in them and my feet felt fine. Would rather get those and my feet all wet and muddy than have to deal with hiking boots again... unless asics decides to make some waterproof high traction actual boots.
Any advice on how to heal my foot? There is pain sometimes, but bearable enough to walk for hours still.
