The whole Military = Made for combat not comfort shit is boomer lore. Most importantly is how old is it relative to other military stuff and obviously, is it a western military. No humping dutch cancer and SADF groot sacks. We're well past that era and the civ build military stuff is very alive and ongoing. The most important thing is that military that is good and modern comes with an expense label that often matches or exceeds civil stuff not designed to last at all costs. Many do both. Mystery ranch gets shilled a lot in the US because of this exact thing. Conveniantly that means there is a solid used gear market for it.
TL:DR
Civ has good, mil has good. Both often combine. Don't over pay for either. If you do overpay - get the one that will last.
Most important is to go outside, ruin your own gear and enjoy.
