I noticed that some of my garden hand tools were a little wide and somewhat destructive in my raised bed. The soil in them is so lose and easy to till that I had an idea.
So, took 15 minutes and made this tool. It's made out of the metal from an old tomato cage and the wood is just a well-seasoned hardwood tree limb I had laying around. I need to make a metal bracket for the end where the holes are drilled to prevent it from splitting with use. I'm also going to make a couple more shapes since removing the wire is easy.
I've been using it today before finishing the handle to get a feel for it. It's quite awesome. I can remove weeds and weed sprouts easily and even hit the plant tubers without damaging them at all. Nothing on it tangles up or catches plants. Only the weeds are damaged.
