Found this hatchet lying around today (live in a rental). My land-lady forgot it was even there. Hit it with a sanding disk for a couple minutes and ran it over a whetstone to make it operable.. put a little oil on the handle. Not bad for having sat outside for who knows how long, maybe 15 years on the porch.. Handle is surprisingly dense and not rotted..
Anything else I can do to really get it shining? Still a little rust coloration left.. I know you can use electrolysis, but i kind of want to keep the handle on there until i can learn to fabricate another..
