Full tang construction makes it super durable, full-size handle fits your hand, point at top of handle keeps your hand from sliding onto the blade, 1/8" thick blade is a good balance of stiffness and light weight, 4-1/2" blade is long enough without being bulky or unwieldy, carbon steel blade is easy to sharpen and holds an edge super well.
It's not going to chop down trees for you, but you should have an axe or hatchet for that. For most everything else (cooking, cleaning, eating, cutting points in sticks, the occasional animal skinning), the Kephart is exactly what you want and nothing you don't.
