Standard procedure is to leave word with a trusted friend or family member with the exact location you are going to, any route you will be taking underground (assuming its a surveyed stretch of cave), and a time when you will call them by if you are out safely. Literally everything you said can happen when camping or climbing in remote areas.
With caving my primary worry is that we will get heavy rainfall when I am deep into an overnight trip. Most of the caves in my region have running water in one form or another, and many are completely inaccessible/flooded after a downpour.
