>>2167910It's a very good tent from my experience. It's almost too good, I'm looking for something a little more cowboy now.
The fact it comes with a ground sheet is a big bonus.
I don't know the conversion rate for Euros, but I got mine from MEC (leaf version of REI) for ~$320CAD. Definitely worth the money.
I wouldn't pay over $400CAD (convert to your currency) for it though, too many other options for over $400CAD here. Options might be different where you are though.
MSR has other options too. I think the Elixir was the less expensive side of MSR tents, but maybe you can get better tent for less money? Sometimes prices for things are strange.
There's not a ton to look at when rating a tent.
>condensationthe fact there's two walls makes this pretty much a non-issue. Condensation collects on the underside of the rainfly then flows down onto the grass outside the bathtub interior. So it's not a problem.
>rain proofnessTotally rainproof
>packsizeNot the best, not the worst. Instead of keeping things together it's better to separate them and shove them in different places.
>weightno idea, not a big deal for me since I was moto-camping
>build qualitysuperb, far better than any walmart tent you could find.
>ease to setupsuper easy, clip system so it takes like a minute or two
>meshnice amount of mesh so you can look up at the start if you don't put the rainfly on
2-person tent means 1 person plus gear.
