>>396725>Do you have a boat?Yes, though admittedly not an blue water capable one. I'm slowly fixing it up to be sold or traded for a slightly bigger boat, which I will in turn fix up to be sold/traded until I am confident that I have the "one" so to speak.
>Do you know how to sail? Yes, I have been learning from my stepfather from the age of 10 (now 25).
>Do you have the financial means to accomplish the task?I don't believe that I have it right now, no. I plan on embarking before the age of 30 so that gives me 4-5 years to get it.
>Start working towards these goals. When your wife sees your fucking serious she will take you more serious. If I wasn't pooping right now I would attach a picture of our book case where I have as many sailing books as my wife does cooking/baking books....Protip: She's a fucking chef. She knows I'm serious. I just think she doesn't want to admit to herself that I'm serious.
Also, I'm a bit offended that you think I would bitch so much just based on an inkling of a dream not acted upon.
Not to mention there are plenty of people who have sailed around the world with MINIMAL knowledge of sailing (read: Tania Aebi, Pat&Ali Schulte), and the "financial means to accomplish the task" differ from person to person. Some have circumnavigated on almost nothing, making a small amount at each port doing odd jobs in order to make it to the next port etc. While others save, budget, and take a 2 year vacation, sparing no expense.
