>>2231971I use a backpack cover plus pic related currently, it's a bit more sturdy than the lightweight $20 ones but you still have to be careful about getting it snagged on things or getting caught on your clothes and popping a seam when you squat down. It's also fairly noisy if that's an issue, although a lot less so than a PVC suit. On the plus side, it's pretty lightweight and keeps you dry as fuck and it's a lot cheaper than hardshells or stuff like that.
I have a couple ponchos too, but if I know I'm going out in rain I prefer a full suit because with a ponch your arms and legs will usually be pretty wet after a while. Poncho is more compact and much better than nothing though, so if I'm not sure I'm gonna get rained on or not I'll throw one in my pack.
