>>966628I made the grip by shaping first, then split it down the center and carved out a half pipe in both sides, then fit it back together around the handle. The butt I made by shaping the wood, then drilling into it until it fit on the end of the blank. I could have done it way nicer if I had access to a wood lathe or belt sander, but I'm kinda limited in the tools I can use currently.
