I've caught everything from saltwater pelagics such as Trevally, queenfish and permit, to bream and flathead, to many freshwater fish such as Australian Bass, catfish, tarpon ect. they really are exceptional lures.
ok now my gear (pic related).
The top setup is a Gold Penn 850ss real on a heavy (8-10kg i think) Silstar crystal power tip rod. Pretty good setup for price (roughly $180), never had a problem with any of it.
The middle setup is a Shimano Stradic 5000 real on a Shakespeare Ugly Stik rod. Would recommend/10. I have pretty much abused the rod for over 10 years of fishing and it has never failed me. And real is also really good, very smooth handle and drag even after owning it for a while.
The bottom is my newest rod, which i also broke on its first trip /out/ 2 weeks ago. It is a Shimano Sahara rod, which broke in two without much pressure nor did i high end the rod. It was pretty shit desu.
I also recently bought a South Pacific fly fishing combo which i plan to try over the summer (never fly fished before)
I also have some other tackle/gear, but those two are what i mainly use.
